Nanotechnology to transform waste into hardwood Part 1

Nanotechnology and water-based glue will be used to transform low-value wood such as thinnings into high-value hardwood at a trial plant in the South East.

Nano Hardwood from Waste 071415 untitledA company called 3RT Holdings will put a $994,000 State government grant towards the cost of constructing the Strand Technology Production Unit at Mount Gambier.

The grant was part of $7.1m announced for forestry and wood product projects in the third and final round of funding from the South East Forestry Partnership Program.
